The Elex MK4 offers new connectivity options with a high performance Rega DAC which gives you two digital inputs and a high quality headphone output which is located on the front panel for convenience. It allows you to hear music through your streamer, record player, CD player, headphones or TV. Whatever you want, the Elex MK4 gives you the option.

The amplifier is able to drive even difficult speakers with ease, and it fits perfectly into any system with its many connectivity options. In addition to line level and digital inputs, you can also find a Moving Magnet RIAA amplifier as well as Pre-out and Record Out functions, which allow you to connect and record from external devices.

Designed with quality components and formidable RIAA amplifier

The Rega Elex MK4 is designed with special focus on key components and uses only the best materials. Thoughtful circuitry, high quality relays, polypropylene capacitors and Sanken output transistors are used throughout the design to ensure the best sound quality. In order to achieve the best performance, Rega has chosen to rebuild and optimize the entire circuit in the MK4. The digital and analog sections are galvanically isolated and powered by a quiet multi-stage linear power supply.

The Elex MK4 also includes a high-performance Moving Magnet (MM) RIAA amplifier carefully built into the circuitry. The RIAA is divided into two stages to minimize interaction. Polyester capacitors are used in the signal paths and polypropylene capacitors are used in the RIAA circuits. This means that you get an RIAA amplifier, which is completely unheard of in this price range, and which is the perfect match together with Rega's own Planar 3 and Planar 6 turntables. Whatever your favorite source and music is, the Elex-R deserves a listen, because it's that good.

A safe amplifier with headphone output

Finally, Rega has taken great pains to incorporate the headphone jack on the Elex MK4. It is configured so that the speaker switching is performed by the output mute relay to avoid disturbance of the signal circuit and ensure that there is no loss of performance when not in use. The Rega Elex MK4 is also equipped with several protection features, including thermal overheating protection, short circuit protection and DC protection to avoid the risk of damage due to overheating, too much direct current or short circuits.
