LUXSIN X8 is an advanced DAC and headphone amplifier for those who use different headphones and want to be able to tailor the sound to each individual model. It combines a DAC, fully balanced headphone amplifier, preamplifier, and DSP in one compact desktop solution.

X8 automatically detects the headphones' impedance and adjusts the gain, while profiles for more than 2,500 headphone models allow for further customization. With eight Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC chips, hardware-based HP-EQ and Crossfeed, as well as up to 4,840 mW per channel, you get both high power and extensive options for shaping the sound to match your headphones and preferences.

One of the features we especially think makes LUXSIN X8 interesting is the way it works with different headphones. It automatically detects the headphones' impedance and adjusts the gain for both sensitive and more demanding models. At the same time, the system includes profiles for more than 2,500 headphone models, while the hardware-based HP-EQ can correct the frequency response.

You can also create and save your own EQ curves, while Crossfeed and the other DSP functions provide additional ways to shape the sound. Everything happens directly in the X8, so you do not need external software on your computer.

Eight DAC chips and plenty of power for headphones

The digital section in LUXSIN X8 is built around eight Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC chips, with four chips dedicated to each channel. The signal is then passed on to a fully balanced headphone section that delivers up to 4,840 mW per channel at 16 ohms, 4,300 mW at 32 ohms in High Gain, and 950 mW at 300 ohms.

This provides a wide operating range for both sensitive and more demanding headphones. You get three gain levels as well as 4-pin XLR, 4.4 mm balanced, and 6.3 mm jack. X8 can also function as a DAC and preamplifier in a larger hi-fi system via balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA.

Advanced DSP wrapped in simple operation

Behind the 4" touchscreen works a HiFi-5 DSP and ARM STAR dual-core architecture with an operating frequency above 500 MHz. EQ, Crossfeed, and automatic headphone adjustment are handled directly in the unit, so you can tailor the sound without relying on external software.

X8 is assembled in a CNC-machined aluminum chassis and uses an adjustable linear power supply with a low noise level. Operation is handled on the touchscreen or via Wi-Fi, while OTA updates keep the system up to date. USB, optical, coaxial, and Bluetooth also make it possible to connect various digital audio sources.
