From streaming and TV to the power amplifier

MOON 891 can make the signal path in a large system surprisingly simple. MiND2 handles network streaming, while the MDE-3 DAC takes care of the digital conversion.

MOON specifies a THD of 0.0003%, a signal-to-noise ratio of 125 dB, and a dynamic range of 125 dB. In addition, there are six digital inputs, including USB and HDMI ARC.

HDMI ARC is especially practical if you also want to use the stereo system for TV sound. You get the TV into the same system without having to build your setup around a traditional AV solution.

Vinyl is properly thought through

Vinyl has not just been added as an extra input. The built-in phono stage supports both MM and MC cartridges and makes it possible to adjust both gain and loading.

Gain can be set to 40, 54, 60, or 66 dB, while the resistance can be adjusted from 10 ohms to 47 kohms. The capacitance can also be adjusted.

This gives you good options for matching the phono stage with different cartridges – without necessarily having to keep a separate RIAA amplifier standing next to it.

A preamplifier built as the center of the system

M-Ray2 handles the volume control and is developed with a focus on precise adjustment and low noise. This is an important detail because all your sources ultimately pass through the volume control.

The entire construction is housed in a 25 kg chassis with MOON Damping Base, developed to limit the effect of vibrations on the electronics. On the front, the large 5" color display gives an overview of playback, while the BRM-1 remote control handles operation from the sofa.
