Rega Aethos - A musical show of power
You can't accuse Rega of following the norm, because the Aethos is a full-blooded analogue amplifier for the digital age, built around Rega's multi-award winning and cheaper Elex-R and Elicit-R. At first glance, it may therefore be difficult to see why you should choose to buy Rega's Aethos, but that is only until you have heard it. Aethos delivers a class-leading combination of insight, rhythm, precision, detail and agility that is only possible because Rega has been completely uncompromising in their choice of components. Rega has equipped the Aethos with as many as eight 160 watt 16 amp Sanken Darlington output transistors, capable of delivering 156 W per channel in 6 ohms. In other words, there is full power behind Aethos' watts, and it can be heard in the lively ease with which Aethos reproduces the music.

Innovative design solutions
Rega have put their resources into developing the circuitry and construction, using high quality components throughout. Rega has integrated the headphone socket in such a way that the speaker switch is carried out via an output mute relay, which does not affect the signal path and degrade the sound quality.
Rega has equipped the preamplifier with a discrete Class-A circuit with FETs, which ensure minimal noise and maximum dynamics, so that a music experience is produced that is as authentic as possible. Another innovation is Rega's unique dual mono circuit, which uses a purpose-built toroidal transformer and regulated supplies for the sensitive output and driver stages, allowing the Aeothos to reproduce the music with the excess that it does.
The Rega Aethos is the perfect match for, for example, Rega's record player Planar 10 or the CD player Isis .
