The Sumiko Wellfleet is an advanced MM pickup, created to reproduce your vinyls with the greatest accuracy, realism and empathy. Wellfleet is the latest addition to the Oyster range and builds on the impressive Moonstone pickup. Among other things, Sumiko has fine-tuned the suspension on Wellfleet, so that the performance of the elliptical diamond has been significantly improved. Combined with the optimized suspension, existing generator and resonance optimized housing from the rest of the Oyster range, Sumiko has created a new high point in pickups.

Wellfleet uses a bare-mounted elliptical needle, which leads to a lower weight of the moving mass. It provides a faster, more direct and precise response from the movement of the stylus through the cantilever and the motor. In terms of sound, it leads to a more precise, dynamic and detailed sound image.

With Wellfleet, the vocals are immediate, clear and detailed. The background vocals are easy to distinguish and the instruments are easy to identify. The output voltage is reduced to only 3mV, which gives an impressive "black background" from which all details appear with the greatest clarity. It provides an incredibly immersive and immersive sound experience, which gives even the MC pickups a fight to the finish line.

The recommended needle pressure is 2.0 grams, and its ½” mounting makes it compatible with the vast majority of turntables and RIAA amplifiers. The needle tab is aluminum with a 0.3 x 0.7mm bare-mount elliptical diamond, which is mounted in a pickup housing with high-quality copper coils.

The new generation within the Oyster series features the latest innovations in pickup design that effectively address the issues of resonance. The pickup housing spreads and dissipates the resonance, so that a sound image is created that is transparent, natural and detailed. The sound is natural and there is plenty of air around the voices and instruments, so it is easy to locate their position in the room.

Good upgrade options

Rainier, Olympia, Moonstone and Weelfleet have interchangeable styluses (pickup fronts) that match each other. If you need to downgrade from Wellfleet at a later date, you can simply swap the stylus for the Rainier or Moonstone model. Investing in a pickup truck has never been more future-proof than this one.
